"Centuries ago, there was a meteor with a dead city on it that directed itself to crash several miles north of Brichester. The impact crater filled with water to become the lake. The six houses around the lake were built 'on the orders of a private group' (of about six or seven people from Goatswood, led by Thomas Lee, who could feel in his dreams that there was something alive under the water) in 1790. The group all disappeared around 1860 or 1870. With the houses abandoned, they were let again in 1880, but people never stayed long. "
