My first helmet.

The base is a real minor helmet, customised with a headmand and nose protection on the face, nordic style. Then I added the ear protections and made the whole connected.
I use synthetic fur for the inside.

I really like the way laces held together the wole thing.

YAY! I'm so happy that you recognizzed that vikings actually didn't have horns on their helmets. It was just a popular idea inspired by a creative artist. You are very historically accurate. Good job!

Ah, thanks ^^

Horns on viking helmets are a very common mistake than a little googling can correct.
I would be more impressed by someone who can actually name a highland clan from tartan or pinpoint the right sewing in a XVth century gambison.

It's quite nice, not historicaly accurate but very nice as a Norse inspired showpiece :)

Thank you ^^

As for the historical acuracy, I'm focusing on the functionality firsthand.
I mostly use historical source because, well, they know how to do it and were damn' serious about protection.

That is really cool, the lacing makes for a really good effect, I agree. I never thought to use a plastic helmet under the leather before, I'm curious about what you used for that part.

Thanks ^^

There is no plastic in this.
I use an old miner helmet. A leather helmet, that is.

Found a bunch at my favorite reseller and decide to use them. They are simply two formed hard leather pieces sewed together.
